vigil 1

i work at a graphic design agency. we mostly handle loyalty programs and customer incentive networks. some of our clients range in the higher echelon of business: ford motor company, starwood hotels, vanguard airlines (who owns continental airlines and american airlines). the list is a bit intimidating when you step back and take it all in. however, in a company this vast, (150 and growing everyday), i seem to find the least creative job imaginable.

as the office assistant (official title), i am a go-to guy for many things. many, many things as time goes on. but the one duty that i cannot avoid is helping fill in at the front desk when the receptionist is on break, at lunch, or in this case, on vacation. for the past three days i have sat on a very cramped rear end, and filled my days Read more »

tech talk 1

in an attempt to get some content on this site, i’ve been writing about whatever is in my head. often several times throughout the day. the interface of the current template i’m using, provided by this fella, is very much me, however there are a few blanks to be filled in. namely the on the navigation side of things. having only three posts now doesn’t do much in the way of archiving. this blog is only two days old. and with much of the options offered by the author, i feel more entries can only help. not for me, mind you. my thoughts will always be here, but for technology’s sake; merely to have something complete to hold in my digital hands. portal 0

last night, against my better judgment, i played through valve’s portal on my brand new monitor. it was my second outing, the first being when i bought the orange box, and things were obviously less spectacular knowing what happens at the end. however, i picked up on some things while i had the wherewithal, not concentrating on the puzzles as much.

the universe created by the small, 10-person team is nothing short of awe inspiring. fitting the story into the half-life universe is something somewhat tangible when a team is put to the task, but the actual events that take place in aperture industries has yet to be fully appreciated, in my opinion. much of this has to do with the length of the game. welcome mat 0

this will mark the third time i have attempted to commit my thoughts to digital paper, and the sixth time i have tried to simply record them in any fashion.

it is in this repetition that i have decided to keep this on a secret, simply writing for my own gain, growth, and good graces. selfish, yes, but what blog isn’t? the glorification of oneself has become a staple of generation y, along with the electronic identity as put forth in such beauty by elliot durko lynch. now this isn’t to say that i will avoid talking about myself. in fact, that’s all i plan to do. how personal and deep the blog dives has yet to be determined, but if subjects cause me to fall out of comfort, (and perhaps, into fear), i may change the names, dates, locations, etc.
