i just turned in my intention to vacate notice. i’ll be out of my current apartment on Nov. 30th, 2008. probably sooner. what to do after that? not sure, but i’ll most likely find a small bedroom in a house and save money for a while.

i’ve been d/l-ing a bunch of programs for my computer, updating stuff, and making things a whole lot sleeker in general. and, again, google has blown my mind.
Google Talk is a standalone chat program offered to anyone with a GMail account. but the fact that i don’t have to occupy one window of Firefox with a GMail account that my Thunderbird is checking anyway is just the tops. Read more »

Falcon 1 rocket fails to reach orbit
Private spaceflight company SpaceX lost a Falcon 1 rocket minutes after launch on Saturday, marking the firm’s third unsuccessful attempt to reach orbit … It is not yet clear what caused the separation failure or even what happened to the rocket … “We have a boat out trying to recover it, but we haven’t found it at this stage.”

i’ve never really seen myself as a pioneer of technology, so it comes as no surprise that it’s taken me this long to figure out that i don’t need to surf the internet anymore. i can just bring what i want to me. i spent about 2 hours of work time organizing things and ended up saying “up yours” to long, complicated urls. troy flies solo from here on out.
