notes on my wandering
all,
it’s been too long. seriously. a month has passed since you last came knocking on my door? tsk tsk.
apologies for those who actually read this, as i’m sure you still think i’m in scotland with a sprained thumb. nay. currently, i’m in paris. and, with 3 days under my belt with 3 more to go, i can safely say, “IT. IS. AWESOME.”
as a welcome break from sleeping on a couch/in a tent/on the street, i am staying in a very nice hotel completely free of cost; a little perk from my last job. it is a welcome break in the “routine” of having to set up camp before dark or needing to be home before my host goes to bed… at 10:00pm. rolling in at 3:00am this morning and not worrying about waking anyone up after actually having a city to spend a night out in, as odd as this sounds, is really cool.
so what have i been up to? highlights:
- hiked across scotland. literally. coast to coast.
- almost saw nessy.
- nearly got arrested in edinburgh, but fooled the police by putting on a different coat.
- city-spanning awkward encounter with a celebrity… semi-celebrity, i guess.
- did english improv. well, made some folks in england do american improv.
- caught a london theif in the act of trying to steal my camera. shouted and pushed him.
- biking on the Thames.
- snuck into the Louvre, which means i am probably wile enough to steal from it. pwnd.
- ate a baguette with brie in the shadow of the Eifel Tower at 1:00am while buzzed on red wine. i am such a hack.
there’s more. much more. but i’ll fill you in later. for now, i think i should get out of this internet cafe basement. it’s stuffy down here.
till later.
